Our Services

At The Teenage Tutor, we provide a comprehensive range of tailored academic support services designed to meet the diverse needs of students and their families. From one-to-one subject tutoring and exam preparation to ongoing mentoring and study skills development, every service is delivered by high-achieving, carefully selected tutors who combine proven academic excellence with a relatable and supportive approach.

1-1 Tuition
Our core offering is one-to-one tuition for all ages. We support students from primary school through to Sixth Form, tailoring every lesson to suit your child’s individual learning style, pace, and academic goals. Across the team, we cover most subjects, including maths, sciences, humanities, and languages, as well as specialist preparation for the 11+ and 13+ entrance tests.

Study Buddy (Homework Help)
Our ‘Study Buddy’ arrangement allows your child to be paired with a tutor and to arrange ad hoc lessons as and when a topic arises that they would like additional support with. Our tutors are happy to help your child complete homework tasks or essays either via video call lessons or via email support.

11+ Exam Technique Workshop
Our popular 11+ workshops are designed to give students a confident, strategic approach to their first formal exam experience. The workshop is ideal for students approaching their entrance assessments, offering both practical skills and reassurance in a supportive, engaging environment. During the two-hour session, we cover all four key 11+ disciplines (English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning), focusing on the most common question types, time-saving techniques, and how to manage exam-day nerves. We take care to make the session feel relaxed and enjoyable, and snacks are always provided!
While we cannot promise results, many of our previous attendees have successfully passed the 11+ following these sessions, and families consistently report increased confidence and improved test performance after attending.
This service is led by Kieran Duncan, our Deputy Head Tutor and Group Workshop Lead. These workshops normally take place in person in Otford.

GCSE Revision Workshops
We run subject-specific sessions that target high-yield content, past paper practice, and time management skills. These sessions are particularly helpful in the lead-up to mocks or final exams, giving students the opportunity to revise intensively alongside peers while receiving expert support. We have developed workshops aimed at both Year 10 and Year 11 students, ranging from a few hours to a two-day course. All of our in-person workshops always include snacks!

Medic Mentoring (Medical School Admissions)
For aspiring doctors, our Medic Mentoring programme offers insider guidance from students currently studying medicine at top UK universities. We provide help selecting medical schools, UCAT advice, interview preparation, work experience suggestions, and personal insight.
This service is led by Alex Duncan, our Head Tutor, and a final-year Medical Student at the University of Cambridge.

Intensive Exam Preparation Programmes
We create a schedule of daily lessons to help your child revise for an upcoming exam. This is a fully customisable service, and we can cover multiple different subjects. These programmes are normally conducted over half terms and school holidays.

Mock Interviews
We offer practice interviews for entrance to Medical School, Oxford and Cambridge. These sessions are complete with feedback from a tutor who has been a successful applicant to these courses themselves.

Personal Statement Support
We offer one-to-one support for personal statements and university applications, including for Oxbridge and competitive degree programmes. Support typically takes place over three to four sessions during Year 12, beginning with a reflective conversation to help the student explore how their experiences, interests, and academic journey align with their chosen course. From there, we guide them through structuring and shaping their statement. Final sessions focus on refining the draft, ensuring clarity, flow, and a strong personal voice.
